10 Tips for Eating Healthy and Feeling Better

Food is an essential part of self-care.

Eating well is a simple way to take care of yourself and boost self-esteem, as Marián Rojas Estapé says, we are, to a large extent, what we eat, and eating well is an act of self-love—not to mention the wonderful and generous work of those who feed others.

Shopping for groceries, preparing a meal, and setting the table are also rituals that promote well-being, even when the meal is very simple. Going to the markets   where you can always find seasonal fruits, vegetables, or flowers is a wonderful journey through the gardens and orchards that others cultivate for our enjoyment; they truly deserve our appreciation.

You might think that with your daily to-do list, there’s not even time to make a piece of toast. However, it is possible—and, above all, essential—to set aside a little time to think about how we eat and make it a daily ritual , enjoyable and nutritious.

The philosophy of the andalusian garden-orchard  it inspires us with a whole list of suggestions for turning the routine of eating into a true ritual of well-being

10 tips for eating well and feeling better:

1. 70% of what we eat should come directly from the garden; there is no healthier or more sensible rule

2. Go to the market at least once a week. It’s a rewarding experience, nothing like the corner supermarket. The market is an extension of the vegetable patch and the garden—a place where you can feel the changing seasons and buy fresh, seasonal produce. Traditional markets are a treasure trove of health.

3. Stock up on two essential superfoods, AOVE and honey if they were of the highest quality, we could survive for months on just a teaspoon of each a day. These two wonders of nature allow us to do without fats and sugars.

4. Always keep a tightly sealed glass jar at home filled with a mixture of walnuts, hazelnuts, and unsalted, unpeeled almonds. Vegetable oils these fruits are packed with antioxidants and energy. A handful a day, along with a piece of fruit, is equivalent to a meal.

5. Fill the fridge with green produce, all the leafy greens , best eaten raw, but also delicious stir-fried or steamed, with a drizzle of olive oil and a creative blend of aromatic herbs, they act as a protective shield against inflammation.

6. Along with green, the other color that completes the flag of antioxidant and revitalizing nutrition is orange . Carrots, squash, and of course oranges—in any form or way.

7. A good 80% dark chocolate  It’s also a must, of course—it’s not about stuffing yourself; one ounce is enough to give you a boost when you’re feeling low and to practice mindfulness of taste, savoring it slowly and enjoying the moment.

8. The famous a glass of wine a day  It’s not a myth, but it doesn’t necessarily have to accompany a meal; in fact, you shouldn’t drink anything while eating. A glass of our favorite wine should be part of those moments when it’s time to pause and relax, savoring the aroma and the taste.

9. Any processed and packaged food, regardless of the packaging, contains preservatives; a standard-sized refrigerator filled with fresh fruits and vegetables is like a home pharmacy.

10. A bouquet of flowers, no matter how humble and simple it may be, it brightens the eye and enriches life. Why are flowers a gift for others and not for yourself? There is a friend within you who truly deserves to be celebrated.

IMPORTANT: It is essential to always take into account each person’s physical condition, any potential skin conditions, and any medical prescriptions they may require. Cosmetic products are not medications and do not cure any ailments; rather, they contribute to the skin’s well-being and beauty, help enhance sensitivity, and provide self-care routines that have a positive impact on our mood.
