The Origin of Eternal Rose
If the poets of Al-Ándalus had not sung to the rose in all its forms and metaphors, Federico García Lorca’s "Casida de la Rosa" would be enough for us to love this flower, without which poetry, gardens, and beauty would never be the same.
The rose did not seek the dawn: Almost eternal on its branch, it sought something else.
The sublime nature of the rose would be enough on its own, were it not also one of the most precious ingredients in perfumery and cosmetics—a status it has held since arriving on the peninsula from the gardens of Damascus over ten centuries ago. There is no Andalusian botanical treatise that does not include the rose as an excellent skin purifier, softener, and facial brightener, possessing a scent that induces calm and contemplation. Rose water was used to perfume the empty halls of the Alhambra, a custom imported from the Caliphal court of Damascus. Rose water and other ointments prepared with rose oil were used in the baths of Nasrid Granada as an infallible remedy for beautifying the skin.
Today, biotechnology allows us to obtain hydrolats and oils from the petals of the Damask Rose (Rosa damascena) and the fruits of the Rosehip (Rosa mosqueta) with great purity, perfectly preserving their benefits for the skin.
The ROSA ETERNA line was born in El Jardín de Hammam as a tribute to this immense poetic and botanical legacy.
We wanted a line that possessed both efficacy and poetry. Its efficacy comes from an unbeatable cocktail of active ingredients: Damask Rose hydrolat, Rosehip oil, organic EVOO, Vitamin C, and Hyaluronic Acid of four different molecular weights. The botany of old meets the technology of today. Beyond revitalizing, hydrating, and brightening the skin, ROSA ETERNA is a delight for the senses due to its texture and aroma. The Rose always lives; let us know how to love and enjoy it.
